National Liberal Party Concludes Successful Delegates Convention
Woods Grounds, Nairobi – June 28, 2025
The National Liberal Party (NLP) successfully hosted its much-anticipated National Delegates Convention on Saturday, 28th June 2025, at the spacious and vibrant Woods Grounds, drawing delegates and party members from across the country in a landmark political event.
The convention, which commenced at 8:00 a.m., brought together a cross-section of party leadership, grassroots representatives, aspirants, and invited guests to deliberate on key governance matters and affirm the party’s internal democratic structures.

This year’s convention was particularly significant, featuring a packed agenda centered around two main objectives:
The election of the National Executive Committee (NEC)
The ratification of the amended NLP Constitution
In what many described as a peaceful and well-organized process, delegates cast their votes to elect new NEC members who will serve as the party’s national leadership team. The elections were conducted in line with the provisions of the NLP Constitution and the Political Parties Act, under the watchful eye of party officials and independent observers to ensure transparency and credibility.
In addition to the elections, the convention also marked the successful ratification of the party’s amended constitution. Delegates reviewed, debated, and endorsed the changes aimed at strengthening the party’s legal framework, promoting internal accountability, and preparing the party for future political engagements.
The revised constitution includes critical updates that reflect the party’s growth and its commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and modern political organization. The ratification process was robust, with inputs from delegates at both county and national levels.

Speaking at the event, party leaders lauded the convention as a turning point for NLP. They emphasized that the successful execution of the day’s agenda reflected the party’s maturity and readiness to lead with vision and integrity.
“This is more than just an event. It is a reaffirmation of who we are as the National Liberal Party — a party of structure, democracy, and purpose,” said a member of the outgoing NEC.

Nomination forms for NEC positions had been made available both online via www.nationalliberalparty.co.ke and through NLP offices nationwide. Completed submissions were due by 13th June 2025, giving ample time for vetting and preparation ahead of the convention.
The convention concluded with calls for unity, vigilance, and greater engagement with the public as the party continues to expand its grassroots presence and national visibility.

As NLP marches forward under the banner of “Maendeleo Kwa Wote”, the success of the 2025 National Delegates Convention sends a strong message — that the party is organized, energized, and ready to shape the future of leadership in Kenya.
