Dr. Augustus Muli Hosts Landmark Dinner to Unite Lower Eastern Leaders

National Liberal Party (NLP) Leader Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli is set to bring together top Lower Eastern leaders for a landmark thanksgiving dinner at his Misuuni residence in Kitui Central Constituency on December 28, 2024. The event, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m, is expected to be a defining moment for the Kamba community as leaders deliberate on the region’s political future and unity ahead of the 2027 General Election.

the meeting will attract key political players from the Lower Eastern Region, making it a critical platform for shaping the community’s political trajectory. Dr. Muli, who also serves as the National Patron of the Anzauni Clan, has been a vocal advocate for Kamba unity while challenging tribal politics and corruption.

The dinner is to takes place against the backdrop of heightened political tensions surrounding the IEBC stalemate. This follows Dr. Muli’s contentious appointment as a nominee to the IEBC Selection Panel, a position fiercely challenged by Wiper’s candidate, Dr. Koki Muli. With the reconstitution of the electoral body stalled by ongoing court battles, the event is widely regarded as a platform for leaders to deliberate on the community’s role in shaping national politics.

Wiper’s favorite candidate who former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is pushing to have her represent Azimio at Iebc Selection Panel despite losing to NLP’s Dr Muli.

Dr. Muli’s bold opposition to corruption and environmental exploitation, highlighted by his high-profile disputes with the Kitui County Governor over alleged illegal sand harvesting, has solidified his image as a reformist leader. The upcoming dinner is expected to tackle pressing issues such as resource management, economic development, and political strategy in preparation for the next election cycle.
