Committed to fostering a society where equality and opportunity are accessible to all, NLP envisions a nation where every Kenyan, regardless of background, can thrive and contribute to a vibrant, cohesive community.
Ukambani witnessed a political spectacle on Saturday, October 11, 2025, as Dubai-based billionaire and National Liberal Party (NLP) Leader, Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli, made a stunning homecoming that has sent shockwaves through the region’s political landscape.
Dr. Muli touched down at his Kitui homestead aboard a sleek helicopter, before leading a massive convoy of luxury vehicles and jubilant supporters to The Woods Grounds, where the much-anticipated NLP Thanksgiving Celebration took place. The event drew thousands of supporters, local leaders, clergy, and dignitaries from across Ukambani and beyond, cementing his position as a rising force in Kenyan politics.
In his address, Dr. Muli expressed deep gratitude to the people of Kitui and Ukambani for their unwavering support and unity of purpose. He urged leaders across political divides to embrace peace, collaboration, and development-focused leadership. “This Thanksgiving is not about politics — it is about purpose, gratitude, and service to our people. Kenya needs unity, not division,” he declared, to roaring applause.
The Dubai billionaire, known for his expansive international business ventures and philanthropic efforts, also welcomed President William Ruto’s upcoming visit to Kitui County, calling it a positive step toward unlocking the region’s development potential. He reaffirmed the NLP’s commitment to work constructively with all leaders for the good of the people, noting that “development knows no party boundaries.”
The colourful celebration featured traditional dancers, choirs, and speeches from community elders who hailed Dr. Muli for inspiring a new generation of leadership rooted in integrity and empowerment. Many attendees described the thanksgiving as “a turning point for Ukambani politics”, with some branding Dr. Muli as “the people’s hope and the face of a new political dawn.”
As dusk settled over Kitui, the NLP supporters vowed to carry the party’s message of progress and inclusivity to every corner of Kenya, signaling a new era in the country’s political evolution — one led by vision, unity, and purpose.
Together we the people achieve more than any single person could ever do alone.
