IEBC Trains Political Parties’ IT Administrators on CRMS Ahead of 2027 General Election
On 8th September 2025, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) convened a technical training session for political parties’ IT administrators on the use of the Candidate Registration and Management System (CRMS). The National Liberal Party (NLP) was ably represented by Emmanuel Junior, the Party’s Director of Membership.
The training, attended by representatives from across Kenya’s 83 registered political parties, focused on equipping IT administrators with the technical know-how required to manage candidate registration and related electoral processes seamlessly.

According to IEBC facilitators, the CRMS has been designed to handle critical functions including:
Registration and processing clearance for both party-sponsored and independent candidates.
Capturing political party details.
Processing and managing party lists (top-up lists).
Integrating CRMS data into the Results Transmission System (RTS).
Generation of ballot and poster proofs.
Production of final ballot papers for General and By-Elections.
The system also generates vital reports such as certificates of registration (Form 21), statements of registered candidates (Form 24), ballot and poster proofs, gazettement notices, as well as records for both nominated and independent candidates.

Speaking after the session, Emmanuel Junior emphasized the importance of the training, noting that the CRMS will enhance efficiency, transparency, and credibility in candidate management for both the 2027 General Election and any intervening By-Elections. He reaffirmed NLP’s commitment to leveraging technology to comply with IEBC requirements and to ensure that the Party’s candidates are registered, cleared, and managed through the new system with accuracy.
The training marks a significant step in preparing political parties for a smooth and credible electoral process as Kenya heads towards the 2027 polls and future By-Elections.
